GOD of War: Ascension Preview: Multi Player

This is it. What we all have been waiting for.  If you familiar with “God of War” you know that the two previous release have been single player only.  But it has been reported that “God of War: Ascension” will feature a multi player mode, that will feature maps, and leave gamers breathless.

The basic premise of multiplayer in Ascension is that the player can go from an unknown hero to a god, following in the footsteps of Kratos.. You will have to ally yourself with one of four gods: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades or Ares – as in the original God of War when Kratos pledged his allegiance to the latter.  In doing this, each player will be able to gain magically abilities, items, and other things from the gods that influence your style of play. In addition to that, there will be classes that you can choose from for your player.  Classes will be based on damage, healing and sustaining, magical attacks, and more.

What will be interesting about the multi player in God of War: Ascension is, team players will not be allowed to pick the same player.  For example, if you was playing “Street Fighter,” each player would not be able to choose Ryu who is obviously the best player on the game.  This allows each player to sharpen their skills as a gamer, and make themselves more of a rounded gamer in multi player mode.

One of the things that will be a really fun feature in multi player mode for God of War: Ascension is the ability to gang up on one person.  This leaves the door open for team players to use two-on-one, or three-on-one take downs when possible.  This will be good for people who are new to the series, but for those who are familiar with the game, if a player is skilled enough he/she will be able to either escape for being ganged up on, or use the situation to their advantage.

This looks to be a big deal for the release of the third installation of GOW4.  Instead of going with the same old way and possibly killing of the franchise, the design team has chose to add an extra feature that will allow gamers to escape from boredom, and keep pushing the envelop for one of the top games in the industy.
